The Project Page is dedicated to providing up to date information on construction relating to the
Bus Transfer Facility. The construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2010-2011. When the project
begins this page will provide details on the design of the facility, a link to the contractors website, and a
more detailed schedule of the process.


Project Schedule

2003: Regional Transit Feasibility Study Conducted by Wilbur Smith Associates and its partners CB&A Research and Cherry Consulting of the Carolinas, Inc.

2006: Greenville Intermodal Transportation Center Feasibility Study Conducted by Martin Alexiou Bryson, PLLC (MAB)

2007: Kickoff meetings with stakeholders and steering committee

May 8, 2008: Greenville City Council Approves Site Selection for the GREAT Passenger Center (Greenville’s Bus Transfer Facility)

September 2008: Phase I Environmental Assessment completed by Moser, Mayer and Phoenix Associates, PA (MMPA)

October 6, 2008: Greenville City Council Approval of Acquisition of Parcels for the Intermodal Bus Transportation Center Site

The following dates are tentative and subject to change.

November-April 2009: Acquisition of parcels for approved site

Late 2009: Bids for award of contract to design the IBTC

2010: Completion and approval of design

2010: Issue requests for bids to construct IBTC

2010-2011: Award construction bid

2011: Construction begins on GREAT Passenger Center
           (expected to take 18-24 months from date of notice to proceed)
